Erika Lechner

Erica Lechner ( born May 28, 1947 in Meransen, South Tyrol ) is a former Italian luger.

The South Tyrolean won the gold medal in luge at the 1968 Olympic Games in Grenoble. It benefited from the disqualification of sledders, Anna -Maria Müller and Enderlein Ortrun, both of which had been lying before her. The GDR 's women were accused to have heated their runners before the start, which did not meet the rules.

1971 in Imst, they also won the European Championship and was at the World Championships in Olang second. After her athletic career, she was hotelier and has operated a few years ago, Hotel Erika in Meransen.
