Eurobank Ergasias

The euro Ergasias (formerly EFG Euro Ergasias ) is the third largest bank in Greece, based in Athens and, like the EFG International in possession of the owner Spiros Latsis. The bank has 24,500 employees and is down to Greece mainly in Southeast Europe active.

History

In 1990 the " Euro Merchant Bank SA " was founded, it was followed by the acquisition of additional small banks in Greece, including 1999, the Bank of Athens and the Bank of Crete.

A merger between Alpha Bank and the Euro Ergasias in 2011 failed because both banks were affected at the time of the Greek debt haircut.
