The euro Borg is a football stadium in the Dutch city of Groningen.

To the stadium

Euro Borg since 1 January 2006, the new home of FC Groningen, who was still playing up then Oosterpark Stadium. In the spring of 2002, started the construction of the stadium complex. The stadium has a capacity of 20,000 seats. The new football temple is situated in the Euro Park, an entirely newly created district at the end of Oude ( old ) Winschoterdiep in the east of Groningen. The cost for the stadium was estimated at 29.4 million euros. The plans were designed by the architectural firm Wiel Arets in Maastricht.

What makes the Euro Borg is that the stadium area was structurally embedded into a huge shopping, office and residential complex. This innovative concept of football to be placed at the center of working there and living people.
