Europe Ecology – The Greens

Europe Écologie -Les Verts ( EELV, Europe Ecology - Greens) is the name of a French party at the initiative of Daniel Cohn- Bendit, on 13 November 2010 from the merger of the party was founded in 1984 in Les Verts and the European elections in France in 2009 the first time being beaten electoral alliance Europe Écologie arose. EELV is a member of the European Green Party and the Global Greens. At the time of its founding, the party secretary had 13,000 members Provisional Party ( party leader ) is up to the first Congress, which is scheduled for early 2011, Cécile Duflot. In the parliamentary elections on 17 June 2012, the party was able to win 17 seats in the National Assembly. In addition, the supported EELV UDB trailer Paul Molac was chosen. Since 16 May 2012, the party is in a coalition government with the Socialist Party and, with Cécile Duflot in the Cabinet Ayrault, the Minister of Regional Development and Housing, as well as with Pascal Canfin an Assistant Minister for Overseas Development at the Foreign Ministry. Duflot gave its mandate from the back in order to remain Minister may; the seat went to the substitute candidate of the PS.

On December 7, 2012 Daniel Cohn- Bendit announced no longer participate in the party or want to participate in their internal discussions. But he continued to pay contributions and stay with it formally joined.
