The Partido Ecologista "os Verdes " ( PEV ) [ pɐɾ'tidu ekulu'ʒiʃtɐ uʒ ' veɾdɨʃ ] is a political party in Portugal. It was founded in 1982 and since then always went along with the Partido Comunista Português than CDU ( Coligação Democrática Unitaria ) in the elections to. Currently, there are two MPs from the PEV in the Assembleia da República, the Portuguese Parliament.

The green movement was born as a citizens' initiative and called Movimento Ecologista Português - "Os Verdes ". This happened at the same time establishing other green parties in Europe. Your policy has been limited largely to the municipal level and the responsibilities of the youth organization Ecolojovem - "Os Verdes ", since only two members are represented in Parliament.
