The European Route 18 (abbreviated E 18 ) is a European route, extending in an east-west direction through Ireland, Great Britain, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia.
Course
Cities
Important cities located on the E 18, are in Ireland Craigavon , Belfast and Larne and Stranraer in Great Britain, Gretna Green, Carlisle, Newcastle. Subsequently, the E 18 sets continued in Norway. There the cities Kristiansand, Arendal, Porsgrunn, Larvik, Sandefjord, Horten, Drammen, Oslo and Askim are on the route. Operating in Norway
The southern end of the European Route 18 in Norway will be expanded into a four-lane highway section in the context of public-private cooperation (Private - Public Partnership PPP) over a length of nearly 40 km. The section between Grimstad and Kristiansand is a key element in the transport corridor between the capital of Norway and the European mainland. The project includes the 38.2 km long main line with more than 60 bridges, 30 tunnels and eight concrete structures as well as a secondary road network from neighboring, access roads and secondary roads, forest and forest trails with a total length of over 100 km.
