Eustaquio Méndez is a province in the northwestern part of the department of Tarija in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Location

The Eustaquio Méndez Province is one of six provinces in the department of Tarija. It lies between 20 ° 57 'and 21 ° 36' south latitude and between 64 ° 23 ' and 65 ° 15 ' west longitude.

The province is bordered on the north and west by the department of Chuquisaca, in the south of the province José María Avilés, in the southeast of the province of Cercado, and on the east by the province of Burnet O'Connor.

The province extends over a length of 90 km in a north-south direction and 105 km in east-west direction.

Population

The population of the province Eustaquio Méndez has risen in the past two decades by about 15 percent:

95.1 percent of the population are Catholics, 3.1 percent are Protestant (1992).
