ExtendedancEPlay

Occupation

ExtendedancEPlay is the first EP by British rock band Dire Straits. This was released in January 1983 as a complement to the album Love over Gold.

Background

ExtendedancEPlay on the European version includes three titles that are very rock-and- roll- oriented and well ahead in this respect from the classic Dire Straits songs. It was recorded between the first and third day of October 1982 in the Jam Studios. For the first time Terry Williams plays drums. The name of the album is a play on words from a word juxtaposition and conflict and is made up of " extended" (English: Advanced), "dance" (English: dance ), "EP" and "play" (English: Playing), ie a danceable EP. On the original UK version, only the first three songs, the fourth Badges, Posters, Stickers and T-shirts were added to the North American edition, and was still a remnant of the 1982 album Love over Gold.
