Faye Dunaway

Dorothy Faye Dunaway ( born January 14, 1941 in Bascom, Florida) is an American actress, director, producer and screenwriter.

Life and work

Faye Dunaway is the daughter of a sergeant of the U.S. Army. The concomitant numerous places of residence of the family was also temporarily Mannheim. Dunaway had initially a teacher scholarship to the University of Florida, graduated in 1962 but at the College of Fine Arts at Boston University. On a Fulbright scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, she had omitted to instead go to the Lincoln Center Repertory Theater in New York, where teaching and role award went hand in hand. In 1962, she received her first major role as Margaret in A Man For All Seasons by Robert Bolt. Even as a movie star she remained faithful to the theater later.

In the 1970s, Dunaway was one of the most famous actresses in Hollywood. For her role as unscrupulous television producer in the media satire Network ( 1976), she won an Oscar, before, she had already been nominated twice ( Chinatown, Bonnie and Clyde ). Eleven nominations and three Golden Globes are also seven nominations for the Razzie as " Worst Actress ", one time as the " Worst Actress of the Decade" (for the 1980s). She was twice awarded the raspberry - in addition to Halle Berry, Liza Minnelli and Sandra Bullock as one of four Oscar - winners.

Faye Dunaway has been married twice. From 1974 to 1979 she lived with her first husband Peter Wolf, the lead singer of the J. Geils Band Together. In 1983 she married the photographer Terry O'Neill, by whom she had a son in 1980. This marriage lasted until 1987.

Faye Dunaway was awarded at the International Film Festival of Cannes 2011 with the French Order of the fine arts and literature.
