FC Metalurh Donetsk
The FK Metalurh Donetsk (Ukrainian ФК Металург Донецьк, Russian Металлург Донецк, Metallurg Donetsk ) is a Ukrainian football club based in Donetsk. His first team plays since the 1997/98 season in the Ukrainian Premjer - Liha, the highest Ukrainian league.
History
The club was founded in 1996. Predecessor was the FK Anthracite Kirovsk descent ( from Kirovsk in the Luhansk Oblast ), that in the first Ukrainian football 1992/93 season in the second division ( Druha Liha ). After relegation, the club moved to Schachtarsk and called himself now FK meditation Schachtarsk. In 1996 he was renamed Metalurh Donetsk. In 1997, also the rise in the Premjer - Liha where the team was able to establish in the following years, and on several occasions took third place at the end of the season. This was the first time in the 2001/ 02 season and then in 2002/ 03 and 2004/05. Metalurh Donetsk took with this success in part also a total of five times in the UEFA Cup, but failed every time in the first round.
Two players Metalurh were far scorers of Premjer - Liha; these were Sergiy Shishchenko (2001/ 02) and Giorgi Demetradse (2003/ 04). In addition, the team reached the cup final of the season 2009/10, where Metalurh Donetsk was inferior to the team of Tawrija Simferopol after extra time 2:3.
