Folktronica
Folktronica (also: Electro Folk ) denotes a musical subgenre that represents a fusion of electronica and folk, with the opening of the two styles can be done.
Term
The term was coined in the late 90, allegedly first used by the British press in reference to the musician Kieran Hebden ( Four Tet ). Their 2001 release, the album Folktronica of the postmodern artist Momus, on which this satirically deals with the new genre. Extensive dissemination of the term used was probably no later than 2007 with the commercial breakthrough of Patrick Wolf's album The Magic Position.
