Francis Wallace Cope ( born November 19, 1910 in Anaconda, Montana, USA, † October 8, 1990 ) Nickname: Ice House, was a US- American football player. He played in the National Football League ( NFL) for the New York Giants.

Playing career

College career

Frank Cope visited in Hayward, California, high school and studied for his degree at Santa Clara University. At college, he played football for Santa Clara Broncos. With the trained Buck Shaw Broncos he was able to move in the Sugar Bowl in 1936 and 1937. Both games against the Louisiana State University could be won - in 1936 with 21:14, the following year with 6:0.

Professional career

After completing his studies, Cope joined the New York Giants in 1938. Cope played on the offensive line with Mel Hein and was Vorblocker of running back Tuffy Leemans. In the same year of the offensive tackle won with his coached by head coach Steve Owen team the NFL championship with 23:17 against the Green Bay Packers. 1939 came running back Ken Strong as a supplement to Leemans to the Giants.
