Frederick Schule

Fred School (Frederick William school; born September 27, 1879 in Fairfield, Ohio; † September 14, 1962 in New York) was an American hurdler and Olympic champion.

School studied at the University of Michigan. In 1903, he won over 120 yards hurdles his first AAU title. In spite of this title was the school 110- meter hurdles of the Olympic Games 1904 in St. Louis not as favorite. One of his fiercest opponents Edwin Clapp, 1903 and 1904, two-time IC4A champion over 120 yards hurdles, but failed to turn the heats.

School won his heat without trouble. Then in the final he could Schideler Thaddeus, who had run a month before the Olympic final in 15.0 seconds an unofficial world record over this distance, keep at a distance and in the end won two yards lead the race.

Fred School died at the age of 82 years in New York.
