Gabès Governorate

The government Gabès (Arabic قابس, DMG Qabis ) is one of the 24 governorates in Tunisia. It is located in the southeast of the country, about 350 km south of Tunis on the Mediterranean coast and covers an area of ​​7166 km ² (4.4% of the total area of Tunisia ). Its population is 366 100. The capital of the region is the same Gabès. The government was founded on 21 June 1956.
