Kebili Governorate

Kebili (Arabic قبلي, DMG Qibillī ) is one of the 24 governorates in Tunisia. The southern half of covering an area of ​​22,454 km ² second largest province of the country is predominantly influenced by the Saharan sand seas of the ergs, here is also the Jebil National Park. In the north of salt lake Chott el Jerid is located. The capital is the same Kebili.

On 21 September 2011, the Tunisian Air Force attacked in the remote south of the region near the Algerian border an armed convoy and destroyed several vehicles.
