Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine

Gaspésie -Îles -de- la -Madeleine is an administrative region (French région administrative ) in the eastern Canadian province of Quebec.

It is further into five regional county municipalities ( municipalites Clarisse de comté ) and 54 municipalities, Reserves, and unincorporated areas divided. The administrative region includes the Gaspé Peninsula and the Magdalen Islands. Seat of administration is Gaspé.

Its population is 93 130 (2011), the land area of ​​20,272.2 km ², which corresponds to a population density of 4.6 inhabitants per km ². 92.1 % of residents speak French and 7.7 % English as the main language.

In the north, Gaspésie -Îles -de- la -Madeleine is adjacent to the St. Lawrence Gulf, on the south by the province of New Brunswick, on the west by the administrative region of Bas- Saint- Laurent.
