Gauliga Danzig-Westpreußen

The Gauliga Danzig-West Prussia was one of the top leagues in the era of National Socialism.

History

In the Gauliga Danzig-West Prussia from 1940 played teams from West Prussia and Danzig, which were formerly competed in the Gauliga East Prussia, to take part in the finals of the German Cup.

In the first season, six teams were represented in the league, which was increased to ten clubs for the second season. Of 1943 took part in nine teams after last year's champion HUS Marienwerderstraße and SG order police Gdansk no longer able to participate. The following year, again played ten teams around the Gaumeisterschaft, the season 1944/45, was stopped early because of the chaos of war.

The Gaumeister could not achieve any success in the finals of the German Cup and failed early.
