Goldene Kamera

The Golden Camera from Hörzu (own spelling The Golden Camera HÖRZU ) is a German film and TV award. It is awarded by the jury of the television magazine Hörzu of the Axel Springer publishing house, which is composed of the chief editor, members of the Hörzu editors and renowned representatives from film and television. Trophy

The Golden Camera was created by Berlin artist Wolfram Beck. Beck based his creation on a Farnsworth camera - the first electronic camera in the world. Produced the Golden Camera - which at times was also known as Silver and Bronze Camera - in most years in the silverware workshop Koch & Bergfeld, Bremen. History

While the ceremony took place initially only on a small scale with a few hundred guests, the Golden Camera award is now in a major television gala with up to 1200 guests. In 2003, the election of the national winners by the Golden Camera Academy took place. This is an expert panel of award winners in recent years. The round was launched by the Hörzu Editor in Chief Jörg Walberer. Since the Golden Camera 2008, the prize will be awarded in specified categories. The jury will be assisted in alternate years by renowned representatives from film and television.

2009 was no ceremony held at a gala. The winners were announced at a press conference, however. This was preceded by a press release of Axel Springer AG announced on 8 December 2008. Springer that all events in 2009, including the awarding of the Goldene Kamera, to be canceled. Was justified with the cancellation of the international financial crisis.
