Gösselsdorfer See

The Gösselsdorfer ( Slow: Goslinsko Jezero ) is a lake in the municipalities and village boars Sitter village in the southeast of Carinthia.

The lake is located on the eastern edge of the Rückersdorfer plate and is the most silted lake in Carinthia lowlands. From the originally existing area of ​​1 square km open water are only around 32 ha available. The maximum water depth is 3 m, due to the low depth of the lake is rich covered with lake and pond with roses and underwater plants. There are wide reed beds with reeds, broadleaf cattail, bulrush pond and cutting and bur reed on the banks. From the adjacent silting bogs reach humic acids in the lake and evoke a brownish color.

The lake is during migration as resting place of importance. The lake has 11 species of fish, including pike, catfish, perch and carp.

Gösselsdorfer lake is located in a 476 hectare nature reserve ( Law Gazette No. 51/1970, 101/1979 and 73/1986 ). South of the lake is located since 1986, a 23.4 -hectare area put under protection ( Law Gazette No. 71/ 1986).

The lake is mainly fed by groundwater, the flux is in the summer with 300-400 L / s quite strong. The runoff drains into the river Drava.
