Gösta Lilliehöök

Gösta Lilliehöök ( born May 15, 1884 in Stockholm, † November 18, 1974 in Danderyd, actually Gustaf Malcolm Lilliehöök ) was a Swedish athlete who was active in the modern pentathlon.

He participated in the Summer Olympics in 1912 in part in his birth city of Stockholm and won the gold medal in the modern pentathlon front of his countrymen Gösta Åsbrink and Georg de Laval. Thus he became the first Olympic champion in the history of this sport.

His victory ushered in a period of dominance of Swedish athletes in the modern pentathlon, which were up to the Games in 1932 in Los Angeles win all the Olympic competitions in the sport, while at the Games in Antwerp in 1920 and Paris in 1924 also a triple and 1928 in Amsterdam and in 1932 a double success achieved. Also in the first three games after the Second World War won 1948-1956 Swedish athletes the Olympic competitions in Modern Pentathlon.
