Guntis Galviņš

Guntis Galvin (born 25 January 1986 Talsi, Latvian SSR) is a Latvian ice hockey player, who plays for AIK Hockey Svenska ligands since January 2014.

Career

Guntis Galvin began his career at HK Prizma Riga, for whom he played in the East European Hockey League and the Latvian championship. In 2004 he moved to HK Riga 2000.

At the start of season 2006/ 07 he completed 39 games for Vsetínská hokejová in the Czech Extraliga before the HK Riga 2000 returned in January 2007 and has been with this club again Latvian champion. Shortly after the start of the following season, in October 2007, he moved to Hungary Alba Volán Székesfehérvár. For his new club he played both in the Austrian Erste Bank Hockey League and at the end of the season in the playoffs the Hungarian Hockey League. In these he won the Hungarian championship with his team. After this success, he was taken by the management of the new KHL Dinamo Riga clubs under contract, where he played until 2013.

Internationally

Early in his career represented Galvin his country in international tournaments. He participated in several U18 and U20 World Championships. He managed at the U20 World Cup in 2005 with the Latvian youth team moved up from Division I to the A World Championship.

Since 2005 he has been a member of the Latvian national team and since then took part in six World Men Championships: 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.
