Guyana national football team

The Guyanese national football team is the national football team of the South American country of Guyana.

Although the former British colony located in South America, Guyana and Suriname as French Guiana is a member of the continental federation CONCACAF. Until the independence of Guyana in 1966, the team participated in international competitions as British Guiana. So far, it's the team not been able to qualify for the CONCACAF Gold Cup or World Cup.

World Cup Qualifiers

As part of the qualification for the World Cup 2010 in South Africa the team in the CONCACAF zone to Suriname met in the second round. The first leg ended 0-1 of Guyanese view. Since the return match was lost on 22 June 2008 at Providence Stadium with 1:2, Guyana is thus eliminated in the second qualifying round of the 2010 World Cup.
