Habřina

Habřina ( German Habrina, 1939-45 hornbeam ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers south-west of Jaroměř and belongs to Okres Hradec Králové.

Geography

Habřina located on the highland Velichovská tabule rechtselbisch between the streams Jordán and Hustířanka on a hill. To the north of the hill rises Vražba (319 m). To the northeast lies a larger substation. In the east, the crest is Prašivka (301 m). East passes the route of State Road 13 / E 67 of Hradec Králové by Jaroměř; there is also the planned route for the continuation of Highway D is 11

Neighboring towns are Hustiřany and Velichovky in the north, and Neznasov Semonice in the northeast, Černožice in the east, in the southeast Holohlavy, Rodov in the south, Račice nad Trotinou the southwest, Frantov, Vrchovnice and Žíželeves in the west and Lužany and Lhota in the northwest.

History

On October 8, 1110 began on a hill above the Elbe Valley Chloumek a two-day bloody battle between the army of Vladislav I. and his brother Soběslav I take. The latter was driven out by his brother to Poland and returned with the support of Polish troops back to Bohemia, to overthrow his brothers. This battle has been handed down from the chronicles of Cosmas of Prague and Martin Gallus.

Habřina was first documented in 1357.

After the abolition of patrimonial Habřina formed in 1850 a municipality in the district Koniginhof. Between 1949 and 1960 the village belonged to Okres Jaroměř and came on 1 January 1961, after the dissolution of the Okres Hradec Králové. Since 13 May 2008, the municipality Habřina leads a coat of arms.

Attractions

  • Remains of the festivals Vražba, archaeological site, north of the village. Built in the second half of the 13th century fortress was destroyed in the time between the Brandenburg invasion of 1278 and the extinction of the Přemyslids in 1306. It was the seat of the Lords of Neznasov, the one kilometer north of the castle Rothenberg built after the destruction of the fortress.
