Hans Christian Andersen Award

The Hans Christian Andersen Award (Danish: HC Andersen medaljen, English: Hans Christian Andersen Award, in its own German spelling: Hans Christian Andersen Award ) is from IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People), an international board of Trustees, awarded every two years from now 70 countries. It is named after the Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875) and is considered the most important international award for children's book authors and illustrators. The Hans Christian Andersen Award is divided into two divisions: Since 1956, the authors of children's books and from 1966, for the illustrators of children's books.
