Hans-Henrik Ørsted

Hans -Henrik Ørsted ( born December 13, 1954 in Grenå ) is a former Danish racing cyclist and three-time world champion.

Hans -Henrik Ørsted was one of the greatest cyclists of Denmark in the late 1970s and 1980s over the years. Even as an amateur, from 1975 to 1978, he won eight Danish Champion in various disciplines in the one - and the team pursuit, points race and individual time trials on the road.

In 1980 Ørsted part in the Olympic Games in Moscow and won in the individual pursuit bronze medal. Subsequently, he was professional and finished in the same year the third place at the UCI Track World Championships in "his " discipline, the individual pursuit. Even as a professional, he was seven times Danish Champion in various disciplines on the track and on the road. In 1981, he won together with Francesco Moser time trial pair the prestigious Trofeo Baracchi.

For the following track world championships was Hans -Henrik Ørsted in the individual pursuit world champion three times, three times Vice World Champion and twice he finished in third place. 1981 and 1983 was Ørsted European champion in Madison together with Gert Frank. Between 1981 and 1988, Ørsted was launched in 53 six-day races, of which he won eight, the most in common with his fellow countryman Gert Frank.
