Harald Brattbakk

Harald Martin Brattbakk ( born 1 February 1971 in Trondheim ) is a former Norwegian football player and five -time top scorer of Tippeligaen.

Career

Association

In his career he played for Kolstad, Rosenborg, FK Bodø / Glimt, Celtic and FC Copenhagen. The longest he played it for Trondheim, where he played eight seasons and scored 153 goals in 223 games. Thus Brattbakk shot until today the most goals for Trondheim and is behind Sigurd Rushfeldt second place in the eternal scorer in the Tippeligaen.

From December 1997 to January 2000, he played for Celtic Glasgow. For the fans, he was considered the worst purchase in the club's history. Nevertheless, he was able to celebrate a few successes, such as the decisive goal against FC St. Johnstone on the final day of the 1997/98 season, which Celtic won the championship. He also scored in the same year in a 4-0 win against FC Kilmarnock all four goals. But all in all, was marked his time at Celtic by uncertainties in the game and not enough gates.

Nevertheless, he was very successful in Norway and also scored in the UEFA Champions League goals against top clubs like Real Madrid and AC Milan. In addition, he was able to defeat his old club Celtic Glasgow with Trondheim in the group stage of the Champions League season 2001 2-0, where he scored both goals.

National

Brattbakk made ​​his debut for the Norwegian national team in February 1995 while playing against Estonia, where he also scored his first two goals. In total, he completed 17 games in which he hit five times.

End of career

On 21 November 2006 Brattbakk gave the Norwegian TV3 announced that he wanted to work as a pilot for his professional career. He completed pilot training at Phoenix East Aviation in Florida in 2008 receiving his official pilot's license until 2010 he flew for the airline Helitrans. This included inserts for the Norwegian Coast Guard. Since 2010 he works as a pilot for the airline Norwegian Air Shuttle.
