House is a market town with 2402 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the Expositur Groebming in Liezen ( district court Schladming ) to the west of the Austrian province of Styria, as well -known resort and as a venue for alpine skiing World Cup races internationally.

Geography

The municipality is located on the top Styrian Enns valley in the Dachstein -Tauern region. The municipal area extends to the north of the Dachstein Plateau, to the south in the Schladming Tauern to Höchstein ( 2,543 m). " Mountain" of the church is the south of the Enns Located Hauser Kaibling ( 2,015 m).

The municipality comprises the cadastral Ennsling, House, House of Lords and Weissbach.

Geologically the north the Enns situated, belonging to the Dachstein Massif community areas, while the south of the river lying areas are a part of the Northern Limestone Alps to the crystalline rocks formed from Schladming Tauern.

History

Ecclesiastical center

  • The first mention of the market dates back to the year 927 (or 928), after which a Bavarian nobleman his possessions with a fortified building ( in the former parlance " hus" ) gave the Archbishop of Salzburg. As part of the diocese won house in its role as the main parish seat and ecclesiastical center of Enns in importance, and managed all diocesan parishes of the Styrian- Salzburgian border to St. Martin am Grimming and in the Sölktäler.
  • 1786 this area was detached to the main parish house of the archbishopric of Salzburg and transfer of the newly formed Diocese of Leoben.

Tourism

Population

Since 1869, the population of 1,314 at that time steadily increased; Interruptions, there were only 1880 to 1890 (-2.7 %), from 1910 to 1923 (-4.8 %) and 1981 to 1991 (-0.9 %). 70 % of the inhabitants are Roman Catholic, and 23 % of the population are Protestant.

Economy and infrastructure

The most important economic factor in the house is tourism (70 % winter, 30 % summer), followed by smaller and medium-sized craft and commercial enterprises, as well as agriculture and forestry.

Most important transport links is the Ennstalbundesstraße B 320, it runs from west to east through the municipality, 25 km west to the Tauern motorway, 50 km east to Phyrn motorway. Moreover house has a non- within walking distance, from the village railway station on the Enns Valley Railway although the railway line a few hundred meters at the center passes. The nearest railway station is the railway station of Schladming.

The medical care of the residents is ensured by a doctor with a pharmacy and a dentist.
