Herrmannsacker

Herrmannsacker is a municipality in the district of Nordhausen in Thuringia. The municipality belongs to the administrative community Hohenstein / South Harz. The office is situated in the municipality Harztor.

Geography

Herrmannsacker located in the north of Thuringia at the foot of the southern slopes of the resin southwest of Stolberg (Harz) and east of Nordhausen, in a rural setting. In the near south located Buchholz on the country road leading from 1037 Rottleberode over after Niedersachswerfen and on.

History

From a document of 1615 shows that Herrmannsacker has already existed in 1253, and before the place became independent, he was apparently connected with the village church Vockenrode. Herrmannsacker and Vockenrode have initially under the rule of the builder of Ebersburg, the Landgrave Hermann of Thuringia, stood. Certainly owes Herrmannsacker the Landgrave Herrmann his name. Culture and sights

In connection with the destination " sawmill ", the ruins Ebersburg and the " All- Too - Close " castle ruins as well as the listed Neustadt dam Herrmannsacker is an area for hikers, leisure and tourism.

The village church of St. Mauritius in 1672 was after it was closed in 1972 and ailing partial collapse of the vault and choir roof. After the founding of a church Building Association in 1999 and with the support of the German Foundation for Monument Protection, the Church is slowly rebuilt and renovated. Each year, the festival is celebrated on the Protect Schützenplatz over 3 days. Every 2 years there is a tug festival with many attractions.
