Kleinfurra

Kleinfurra is a municipality in the Thuringian district of Nordhausen and a member of the administrative community Hainleite.

Location

Kleinfurra lies at the foot of the Hainleite, a small mountain range in the north of Thuringia, in the valley of the Wipper. The county town of Nordhausen is close just to the north. To the east are the cities of Kleinfurra Sondershausen and west Bleicherode.

History

Kleinfurra 822-842 was first mentioned. The manor was built by the families Telemann, later Herrmann managed ( Historic grave stones in the cemetery ). The village is dominated traditionally agricultural, although the way to work due to the favorable rail connection was never far away. The farmers had in the GDR from 1952 the path of collectivization go. They found after the fall of new forms of agricultural work. 2012 lived 500 inhabitants in the village.

Kleinfurra has a station on the railway line Nordhausen to Erfurt. Near Kleinfurra the country road by 1034 Sondershausen crosses after Wipperdorf with the main road Nordhausen - Immenrode.
