Hiam Abbass

Hiam Abbass (Arabic هيام عباس, DMG ʿ Abbās Hiyam; born November 30, 1960 in Nazareth, Israel) is an Israeli- Arab actress and film director.

Life

Hiam Abbass is one of the few outstanding Israeli actresses of Arab origin and appears regularly since 1994 in international film and television productions. In Germany it was known to a wider audience with her ​​roles in the films The Syrian Bride (2004) and Paradise Now ( 2005). For the former film, she received a 2005 nomination for the European Film Award for Best Actress.
