History

Incorporations

On 1 March 1974, the new church Hilgermissen was newly formed by the merger of eight former municipalities Eitzendorf, Heesen, Hilgermissen, Magelsen, Mehringen, Ubbendorf, Wechold and Wienbergen.

The 13 seats in the municipal council are distributed as follows:

  • Wählergemeinschaft Hilgermissen ( WGH ) 7 seats
  • Ballot initiative for Hilgermissen ( WFH ) 6 seats

Coat of arms

Under golden plate with a centrally arranged main, side by side, black lace in blue, over bowed golden wave beams two golden horses facing each other such that cover their bodies partially.

In the main shield are symbolically represented by the three upright spikes the three churches of the parish Hilgermissen. The color of the coat of arms in gold and black refers to the color coat of arms of the Counts of Hoya.

In Hilgermissen there are no street names, but only house numbers, according to which citizens, postmen, suppliers and visitors must orient.

  • St. Mary's Church to Wechold

Art in Public Space

In the auditorium of the school on Weserbogen in Wechold a mural of the heavy Inger artist Gottlieb Pot d'Or (1905-1978) is from the year 1966.

Nature

  • The Alveser lake is Alvesen, (just like the sea) which belongs to Magelsen. The lake is a quiet arm of the Weser and the scenery is idyllic.
