Horbach, Westerwaldkreis
Horbach is a municipality in the Westerwald district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Montabaur.

Geographical location
The community lies in the Westerwald south of Montabaur Nassau nature park in the so-called chaffinch country.
History
Horbach was first documented in 1486.
Policy
The local council in Horbach consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 a proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman. The twelve seats in the municipal council are divided into two groups of voters. In the previous election in 2004, a majority vote was held.

The location Horbachs the so-called chaffinch little country is represented by the Chaffinch. The wave oblique bar represents one of the tributaries of the source Daubachs, which rises in Horbach. The heraldic lily, who served the swamp lily for example, refers to the qualifying expression of the place name: horo = swamp. The colors red and silver are the kurtrierischen crest colors.
