Daubach, Westerwaldkreis

Daubach is a municipality in the Westerwald district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Montabaur.

Geography

The place is located west of Federal Highway 3, five kilometers from Montabaur, located in the lee of the Stelzenbach Forst, above the Gelbachtales and only 7 kilometers from the Lahn with the Episcopal town of Limburg an der Lahn.

History

The place was first mentioned in 1343.

Daubach belonged to the beginning of the 19th century to the right bank part of the Electorate of Trier, was assigned to the Principality of Nassau -Weilburg due to the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss circuit 1803. After the formation of the Confederation of the Rhine Daubach belonged from 1806 to the Duchy of Nassau. Under the management of Nassau Daubach was the Nassau Office Montabaur and until 1815 the administrative county of Ehrenbreitstein, then assigned to the administrative district of Wiesbaden.

According to statistics of the Duchy of Nassau in 1843 the community had 149 inhabitants Daubach who lived with 44 families in 32 houses. The inhabitants were all Catholic.
