Hrádek (Hradec Králové District)

Hradek ( German Bürgles ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers southeast of Nechanic and belongs to Okres Hradec Králové.

Geography

Hradek is located on the right side of the Radostovský creek, a left tributary of the East Bohemian Bystřice on the board. North-east rises the hill Jehlický vrch (302 m).

Neighboring towns are Lubno and Jehlice in the north, Nový Přím in the northeast, Stěžírky in the east, and Těchlovice Radíkovice to the southeast, and Libčany Želí in the south, and Radostov Boharyně the southwest, Kunčice in the west and Stýskal and Nechanic in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was 1377th in Hradek since the 8th or 9th century there was a small party, which served as a knight's seat. It is detectable to 1528. The consecration of the wooden parish church of St. George was 1384. During the Thirty Years War, the church was destroyed and rebuilt in 1694. In the middle of the 19th century Franz de Paula Ernst Graf Harrach had built in the forest north of the village a romantic castle in the English style.

After the abolition of patrimonial Hradek formed in 1850 a municipality in the district of Hradec Králové. 1945 were carried out by the Beneš Decree No. 12, the expropriation of Count Harrach and the nationalization of the castle. Hradek 1949 was assigned to the Okres Hradec Králové - okolí. The castle is open to the public since 1953. Since 1961, the community is part of the Okres Hradec Králové. In the castle park was established in 1991 a 9- hole golf course.

Attractions

  • Castle Hradek u Nechanic, also known as " Bohemian Hluboká " designated castle was built in 1839-1857 for Franz de Paula Ernst Graf Harrach. As template the Viennese architect Karl Fischer, the plans of the architect Edward Buckton Lamb for an unrealized reconstruction of the English manor Crewe Hall in Cheshire from the mid-17th century served thereby. The castle is situated on the land of Lubno and partly on Nechanitzer hallway. 2001 was awarded the castle to its original color with the red towers harrach back.
  • Church of Sts. George, the church was consecrated in 1694 instead of a 1384 wooden church, which was destroyed during the Thirty Years' War.
