Hugh Mitchell (politician)

Hugh Burnton Mitchell ( born March 22, 1907 in Great Falls, Montana, † June 10, 1996 in Seattle ) was an American politician of the Democratic Party. He represented the State of Washington in both chambers of the U.S. Congress.

Two years later, Hugh Mitchell then ran for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives and was successful. He belonged to the chamber after a re-election of January 3, 1949 to January 3, 1953. A third time he did not present himself; Instead, he ran for the governorship of Washington, but was defeated by incumbent Arthur B. Langlie. As a result, proposed in 1954 and 1958 two attempts to return to the House of Representatives fails. Thus Mitchell's political career was over.
