Ian Holm

Sir Ian Holm, CBE ( born September 12, 1931, in Goodmayes, Essex ) is a British actor.

Life

Prior to his career as a film and television actor Holm was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company. In 1965, he played for the BBC adaptation of The War of the Roses - pieces ( Henry VI. Part 1-3 and Richard III. ) Richard III. He also starred in a large number of Shakespeare plays (among Romeo, Henry V, Troilus and Puck ) and made a name for himself as an outstanding performer.

From 1955 to 1965 he was married to Mary Lynn Shaw, with whom he has daughters Jessica and Sarah -Jane. From the relationship as a photographer Bee Gilbert originate son Barnaby Holm ( born February 20, 1967), who is also an actor, and daughter Melissa. From 1982 to 1986 he was married to actress Sophie Baker, with whom he son Harry (* 1981) has. From 1991 to 2001 Ian Holm was married to his third marriage to actress Penelope Wilton.
