İlkay Gündoğan ( born October 24, 1990 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German football player. He is since 2011 with Borussia Dortmund under contract.

Life

Gündoğans parents come from Turkey, the father had moved to Germany in 1979. Gündoğan grew up with an older brother in his hometown of Gelsenkirchen. He took off at the partner school of the football club, the Bertolt Brecht School Nuremberg, graduated from high school in spring 2011. Gündoğans father later acted as his advisor.

Gündoğan is in a relationship with actress Sıla Şahin.

1 FC Nuremberg

The midfielder was in his youth for the clubs SV Gelsenkirchen- Hessler, FC Schalke 04, SSV Buer and VfL Bochum on the square. In Bochum, he graduated in the 2008 /09 season, two games for the second team in the Regionalliga West, with him in the BV Cloppenburg scored a goal. Gündoğan has won several German youth national team.
