Imane Merga

Imane Merga (born 15 October 1988 Tulu Bolo, Oromia Region ) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner.

He had at Cross runs his first success: In 2007, he won the Crosse Internacional de Oeiras. and 2009 the Antrim International Cross Country.

As Ethiopian runners in the 10,000 m, he qualified for the World Athletics Championships in Berlin, where he finished fourth.

In 2010 he won the Giro Media Blenio, the Corrida de Houilles and BOclassic. In the 5000 -meter run, he sat down with victories by at the Bislett Games in Oslo and the Golden Gala in Rome in the overall standings of the IAAF Diamond League.

At the World Cross Country Championships 2011 in Punta Umbria, he won the title in the individual competition and the silver medal in the team competition. It was followed by the title defense at the Giro Media Blenio. At the World Athletics Championships in 2011 Merga was third over 5000 meters to the finish, but was later disqualified because he had unlawfully left the train. The bronze medal went to his compatriot then Dejen Gebremeskel. In the 10,000 -meter run Merga won the bronze medal with a time of 27:19,14 minutes.
