In the End is a song by American nu metal band Linkin Park. It was released as the fourth and final single from the debut album Hybrid Theory on 20 November 2001 by Warner Bros.. By reached number two on the U.S. Billboard charts, the single most successful there Linkin Park was. Exist with ENTH E Nd ( resuscitation ) and Izzo / In the End ( with Jay -Z, Collision Course ) and two remixes, both of which were released as promotional singles.

Formation

The song was originally written as a poem by Chester Bennington and named, but has been rewritten and adapted in order to fit on the album quite a few times. Thus came a rap Part of Mike Shinoda do so.

Earlier demo recordings of the song carried the working title Untitled or The Untitled. Such a version of 1999 was released in 2011 on the exclusive fan club album Linkin Park Underground Eleven.

Music Video

The music video was directed by Nathan "Karma " Cox and member of the band and DJ Joe Hahn. It was the first of many music videos, directed by Joe Hahn. The background of the video is shot in the California desert, the band, however, was filmed during the 2001 Ozzfests in the studio. The final version was prepared with the help of CGI.

In the video, Mike Shinoda raps in a desert, which is overgrown finally grasses after the onset of rain.
