Songs from the Underground (English for " Songs from the Underground" ) is the second official EP of American nu-metal and alternative rock band Linkin Park. The recordings were released in the U.S. on 28 November 2008, in Germany until 17 July 2009 on Warner Brothers Records. The EP contains six demos and two live recordings.
Background
Except for the two live tracks, all songs were released earlier the official fan club Linkin Park Underground. This publishes the annual LP Underground CDs live recordings, demos of well-known titles and unreleased songs that did not make it to a studio album.
And One and Part of Me are demos that were originally included on the Hybrid Theory EP released in 1999. Dedicated derived from LP Underground V2.0, Sold My Soul to Yo Mama, contains a song by Joe Hahn, the samples of Papercut and Points of Authority, was released on LP Underground V4.0. Announcement Service Public and QWERTY are demos from LP Underground 6 Hunger Strike, a Temple of the Dog cover, sung during the Projekt Revolution 2008 tour of their former frontman Chris Cornell with Chester Bennington. Also, the live version of My December was played in 2008.

Reception
Artist Direct praised that Linkin Park show a new page. Especially QWERTY, And One, Sold My Soul to Yo Mama and Hunger Strike convinced. Rating:
Alexander Cordas of Laut.de criticized, however, that Linkin Park draw with those albums people the money from his pocket. The winged word from the cow to be milked get a whole new dimension. Only the song QWERTY, he praised and asked at the same time, why they hide as a song in the fan club. He forgave.
Also CDstarts.de criticized the album as a commercial product, which is more than interesting for hardcore fans. As Anspieltipps QWERTY, Hunger Strike and Sold My Soul to Yo Mama called. were awarded.
But many fans are criticizing the album because the songs of the LP Underground CDs were thereby able to the general public and therefore lost its exclusivity. Further criticism is that only the two live recordings are new and that the album it is too expensive.
