Background and composition

Bleed It Out is next to Hands Held High the only song from the album Minutes to Midnight, which includes rap. These two songs, and Given Up are also the first that contain foul language and thereby gave the album a parental advisory sticker. Bleed It Out shows many parallels with the earlier single Faint, as both are based on guitar riffs that use fast switching between singing and rap (although in most older songs the case), are relatively short and both act of frustration.

The booklet states that the letter of Bleed It Out of the band have prepared so much fun, but they had the text also repeatedly change until he appeared to them perfectly. The first line (And here we go for the hundredth time, in German in about: And now for the hundredth time ) refers to this work process.

Live is usually extended with either a drum solo or a few lines from other songs on the track. There were already for A Place For My Head, Burning in the Skies, No Roads Left, Reading My Eyes, Papercut, There They Go ( by Fort Minor ), sabotage ( a Beastie Boys cover, in honor of the late 2012 Adam Yauch ) and Harlem Shake ( from Baauer ) used. Sometimes combinations occur.

Bleed It Out is played often at the end of the concert or before addition.
