Innerbraz

Innerbraz is a municipality in the district of Bludenz in Vorarlberg, Austria with 938 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2013 ).

Geography

Innerbraz lies in the Kloster on the river Alfenz to 708 meters. 58.5 % of the area is forested, 10.3 % of the area Alps. There are no other local villages in Innerbraz.

History

The Habsburgs ruled the areas in Vorarlberg changing of Tyrol and Further Austria from ( Freiburg im Breisgau). From 1805 to 1814, the town belonged to Bavaria, then back to Austria. For the Austrian state of Vorarlberg Innerbraz heard since the foundation in 1861. The place was from 1945 to 1955 part of the French zone of occupation in Austria.

The name comes from the Latin Braz " prates " - from meadow.

The place was on 11 August 1995 nationally known by a train accident in which three people were killed and 17 people were seriously injured. The accident was triggered by a mudflow that had torn the railway bridge over the creek Mason.

The proportion of foreigners at the end of 2002 was 8.4 percent.

Policy

The municipal council consists of 12 members. Mayor is Eugen Hartmann. The municipality revenue from taxes and other charges in 2001 were at € 958,262, the municipal expenditure at € 1,604,543. The debt was 2001 1.828.837 €.

Sport and Leisure

Innerbraz has an outdoor swimming pool and in winter cross-country skiing. In Ausserbraz is a golf course available. Numerous hiking trails to the surrounding mountains of the Kloster.

Economy and infrastructure

At the site there were in 2003 14 companies in the industrial sector with 159 employees and six apprentices. Taxable wage -employed, there were 444 Opening Social Center: October 22, 2005

Education

In the resort there are (as of January 2003), 267 pupils. In Innerbraz there is also a kindergarten.
