Irish Book Awards

The Irish Book Award is an Irish Literature Prize, which is awarded annually in several categories at Irish writers since 2006. The predecessor since 2000, the Irish Novel of the Year Prize.

The shortlists compiled by Irish booksellers and librarians. The Irish Literary Academy selected from the winners in the categories of novel, non-fiction, children's books, YA, newcomer, an Irish book publishing, sports book and Crime. It also presents an award for lifetime achievement. There is ever an audience award for popular fiction and the book of the year. In 2010, a price for the book of the decade was awarded: Skulduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy.
