Jacko Barry

Jason Barry ( born February 13, 1975 in Dublin, Ireland ) is a former Irish darts player. His nickname was " Jacko " and his theme song was Back in Black by AC / DC.

Career

His first success came Barry, as he failed to qualify for the World Grand Prix 2007, after he had been successful in a comprehensive 549 darts player qualifying tournament. In the first round of the World Grand Prix 2007 he met the then number 16 in the world Andy Jenkins, against which he lost with 1:2 sets.

According to the World Grand Prix, Barry could also qualify for the PDC World Darts Championship 2008. In the international preliminary round, he defeated the Scots Jamie Harvey Legs 5-3 before losing in the first round against his compatriot Mick McGowan 0-3 sets.

Another success came at the PDC UK Open 2008. In his first match he defeated Adrian Welsh 6-5 and won against Alan Cayse also in the third round 9-2. In the fourth round he lost then compared to the set of one Dutchman Raymond van Barneveld with 7:9, although he could turn a 1:5 residue to a 6:6 draw.

A good performance from Barry delivered at the World Grand Prix 2008, making him the first Irishman who was able to attend two consecutive World Grand Prix. After a 2-1 win against Northern Ireland's Brendan Dolan, he lost 0-3 to the Canadian world champion John Part He also won the qualifying tournament for the European Darts Championship 2008, then was defeated, however, in the first round of world number one Phil Taylor with 1:6 Legs.

His last major tournament played Barry in the World Grand Prix 2009. During the first round he defeated Mick McGowan 2-0 in the second round, he defeated Steve Beaton 3-2. In the quarterfinals, he played again against Raymond van Barneveld, but lost again, this time with 0:4. Following this tournament Barry finished his career with the PDC.
