2009 World Grand Prix (darts)
The Skybet World Grand Prix 2009 is a major tournament of the Professional Darts Corporation and was played Hotel in Dublin, Ireland from the 5th to the 11th of October 2009 at the City West. A peculiarity of the World Grand Prix is that the legs in the double -in double -out mode are played.
Defending champion was the English darts player Phil Taylor, by a 6-3 record success against Dutchman Raymond van Barneveld won the title again this year.
Prizes
A total of £ 350,000 was paid out in prize money.
Qualification
For the World Grand Prix 2009, the following players were qualified:
- The 16 top-ranked players in the Order of Merit, of which the eight winners were set
- The 14 top-ranked players in the Players Championship Order of Merit, which were not already eligible on the Order of Merit
- Had the two top ranked players in the Players Championship Order of Merit from Ireland and Northern Ireland, which do not satisfy any of the above two criteria and participated in at least four Players Championships tournaments
