2012 World Grand Prix (darts)

The PartyPoker.com World Grand Prix 2012 is a major tournament of the Professional Darts Corporation and was played Hotel in Dublin, Ireland, from 8 to 14 October 2012, in the City West.

Defending champion was the English darts player Phil Taylor, but already in the second round the Scot Robert Thornton defeated this year with 2:3.

New Title carrier was the Dutchman Michael van Gerwen, who in the final prevailed 6-4 against Mervyn King.

On German television, the World Grand Prix 2012 from the transmitters Sport 1 and Sport 1 was broadcast live. Sport 1 showed the tournament completely.

Prizes

A total of £ 350,000 was paid out in prize money.

Qualification

For the World Grand Prix 2012, the following players were qualified:

  • The 16 top-ranked players in the Order of Merit, of which the eight winners were set
  • The 14 top-ranked players in the Players Championship Order of Merit, which were not already eligible on the Order of Merit
  • Had the two top ranked players in the Players Championship Order of Merit from Ireland and Northern Ireland, which do not satisfy any of the above two criteria and participated in at least four Players Championships tournaments
