2011 World Grand Prix (darts)

The PartyPoker.com World Grand Prix 2011 is a major tournament in darts and was held from 3 to 9 October 2011 at the Citywest Hotel in Dublin instead. The tournament was hosted by the Professional Darts Corporation.

Defending champion was the Englishman James Wade, who defeated his compatriot Adrian Lewis in the final of last year.

The tournament was played in the set system, each set it went on best of five legs. Each leg was played in 501 -double -in double -out mode.

By a 6-3 final win against Northern Ireland's Brendan Dolan Phil Taylor won the tournament for the 10th time overall.

On German television, the World Grand Prix 2011 was transmitted by the transmitters Sport 1 and Sport 1 live. Sport 1 showed the tournament completely.

Prizes

A total of £ 350,000 was paid out in prize money.

Qualification

For the World Grand Prix 2011, the following players were qualified:

  • The 16 top-ranked players in the Order of Merit, of which the eight winners were set
  • The 14 top-ranked players in the Players Championship Order of Merit, which were not already eligible on the Order of Merit
  • Had the two top ranked players in the Players Championship Order of Merit from Ireland and Northern Ireland, which do not satisfy any of the above two criteria and participated in at least four Players Championships tournaments
