James C. Miller III

James C. Miller III ( born June 25, 1942 in Atlanta, Georgia) is an American economist, university lecturer and business manager, who was also director of the Office of Management and Budget.

Life

High school teacher and chairman of the Federal Trade Commission

After schooling Miller studied business administration at the University of Georgia and earned there in 1964 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA Business). A subsequent post-graduate studies in economics at the University of Virginia, he graduated in 1969 with a Philosophiae Doctor ( Ph.D. Economics) from. In 1968 he took over briefly a professor at Georgia State University, but then switched in 1969 as Senior Economist in the staff of the U.S. Department of Transportation, where he was then from 1972 to 1974 consultants. At the same time he was 1972-1974 Professor at Texas A & M University, and senior staff of the Brookings Institution.

Subsequently, he was from 1975 to 1977 scholar at the American Enterprise Institute ( AEI) and undertook subsequent to 1981 as a consultant to the National Science Foundation.
