Jared Gold (organist)

Jared Gold is an American jazz organist and composer who lives in New York City.

Work

Gold plays Hammond organ and one of his influences Larry Young, Jack McDuff and Don Patterson. Gold belonged from 2004 to a trio of guitarist Dave Stryker ( on drums with Tony Reedus ), who formerly played with Jack McDuff. He has published five albums as a leader at position clays, first in 2008 Solids and Stripes ( with Randy Napoleon, Mark Ferber, dr, Seamus Blake, ts), then 2009 Super Sonic ( with guitarist Ed Cherry, McClenty Hunter, dr ), 2010 Out of Line ( with Dave Stryker, Chris Cheek sax, Mark Ferber dr ), 2011 All wrapped up ( with Quincy Davis, trumpeter Jim Rotondi, and saxophonist Ralph Bowen ) and 2012 Golden Child ( with Ed Cherry and Quincy Davis).

Gold also plays frequently in the trio of guitarist Randy Napoleon ( with drummer Quincy Davis), with whom he toured for example in England and recorded two albums, first Enjoy the moment 2006. Next he took with William Ash, Dave Stryker ( The Chaser ) Avi Rothbard, Dan Pratt and Oliver Lake on; He also played with John Abercrombie, Adam Nussbaum, Jimmy Ponder, Don Braden, Cecil Brooks III, Bill Goodwin, Jon Gordon, Ralph Peterson and John Swana.

In 2013 he won the Down Beat poll for Organ in the Rising Star category.
