Jason King (ice hockey)

Jason King ( born September 14, 1981 in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who jets from the National Hockey League is since August 2011 at the Winnipeg under contract on their farm team, the St. John's IceCaps in the American Hockey League plays.

Career

1999, at the age of 18 years, Jason King stood for the first time in the QMJHL for the Halifax Mooseheads on the ice. After two years, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in the seventh round in 2001, 212th position from the Vancouver Canucks. The Canadians remained another year in Halifax, before he went into the Canucks organization.

In the season 2002/ 03 King was used eight times for Vancouver in the NHL, the majority of the season, he stood for the farm team Manitoba Moose in the American Hockey League on the ice. The following year, the winger completed 49 NHL games for Vancouver before it was used in the second half of the season almost exclusively for Manitoba. In the season 2004/ 05 the links Sagittarius played throughout the farm team from Manitoba, as the NHL season failed due to the lockout. A head injury forced him nine months to pause before he returned to the AHL team the Moose.

2006 Jason King opted for a move to Europe, where he hired at Skellefteå AIK after Vancouver had not accepted its terms and conditions. There the otherwise regular scorer was less successful, so he again joined the league after one season. For DEL club Iserlohn Roosters of the links Sagittarius signed a year contract, at the same time his transfer rights from Vancouver were transferred to Anaheim.

The reigning Stanley Cup champion Anaheim took these rights true mid-July 2007 and took King under contract, after the contract has been resolved with the Roosters. After another season in which he did not make the leap into the best hockey league in the world, he signed a contract in Germany again, this time at the Adler Mannheim. For the season 2009/10, King moved to league rivals Hamburg Freezers. On August 2, 2011, he broke his contract in Hamburg and moved back to the American Hockey League, where he plays with the St. John's IceCaps, the farm team of the NHL team Winnipeg Jets.
